What we make
taggame.app is the site behind our version of tag. The product is a single-player arcade chase: run from It, and if It catches you, tag a bot back before your countdown runs out or the run ends.
We are not an app store publisher and we do not require a download. The game is the website. That choice keeps load times short, works on phones and desktops, and avoids an account wall. Best scores, longest survival times, and games played live in local browser storage on your device.
If you are comparing this to another tag game you found elsewhere, this page only speaks for taggame.app. Rules and scoring described in our how-to-play guide and FAQ match this build of the game.
Our story
taggame.app is not a content farm or a meta-game wrapped in ads. It is a chase with a clear fantasy: one countdown, one rule, and a survival time you keep chasing.
Tag is one of the oldest games there is — no rulebook, no equipment, just one player who is "It" chasing everyone else until someone gets caught and the role passes on. It has been played on playgrounds for generations because the core loop needs nothing but space and other people.
taggame.app translates that same rule into a browser arena you can play alone: three AI chasers stand in for the rest of the players, and a visible countdown recreates the real pressure of needing to tag someone back quickly instead of stalling.
We build for players who want the feeling of a real chase — genuine risk, a skill ceiling worth climbing — without needing four people free at the same time. taggame.app exists to keep that experience sharp, fast, and free.
What we stand for
Open the page and the arena is already waiting. No account wall, no download, no tutorial that talks over the fun — just press Play and start running.
You are never safe for long. The It countdown means a single missed tag-back ends the run — no modes to pick, just one honest, escalating chase.
Best scores and survival times live on your device. We do not hold your progress hostage behind a login, and there is nothing to unlock.
The full game is free forever. No energy meters, no ads breaking up a run, no surprise paywalls. If you enjoy Tag Game, that is the whole product.
Who it is for
taggame.app is a family-friendly, single-player game with no chat and no in-game store. It is a poor fit if you want a slow-paced puzzle. It is a good fit if you want a genuine arcade chase you can pick up anywhere, alone.
A run can last ten seconds or ten minutes. taggame.app is built for a phone on the couch or a browser tab between tasks — pick it up, dash around, put it down.
There is nothing to study and no board state to plan three moves ahead. Every run tests the same thing: can you read an angle and time a dash right now.
Best scores stay on the device you used. That is a deliberate trade: instant play, no cloud restore. We would rather skip the sign-up wall than pretend we host your save.
Why this site
Tag is a well-known playground game with plenty of local-multiplayer clones online. This site exists to ship one honest, fast, solo-playable version of it — with real stakes and no clutter.
Most browser tag games are actually local multiplayer — great with friends on one keyboard, useless to a solo visitor from a search result. taggame.app is built to deliver the real chase feeling to one player immediately.
Becoming It is not just a color change — it starts a shrinking timer you have to beat by tagging a bot back. That risk is what turns "walk away from a red dot" into an actual game.
No auto-playing video ads, no fake "install our app" banners, no dark patterns around the mute button. The how-to-play guide, tips, and FAQ describe the exact engine you are playing, not a generic write-up.
How we build
taggame.app runs entirely on the web. That means fast loads, keyboard, drag, and dash controls, and progress that stays local unless you clear your browser data. We use lightweight analytics so we can see what helps players — never to gate the game behind a profile. The same engine that runs on the home page is the one described in our public rules pages, so search results and the live game do not drift apart.
Desktop and mobile share the same arena. WASD, arrow keys, or drag-to-steer with a Dash button — pick whatever fits the device in your hand.
Your best score and longest survival time are stored locally. You own the continuity of your run without signing up.
We watch aggregate usage through Google Analytics to improve pacing and polish. Details live in our Privacy Policy — never as a sales pitch.
