How the Chase Escalates

Tag Game has one endless mode, not difficulty tiers you pick from. Here is exactly how chaser speed ramps up the longer a run lasts, from the warm-up lap to full overdrive.

Why no mode select

One chase, getting harder the whole time

Most arcade chase games ask you to pick Easy, Medium, or Hard before you even start. Tag Game skips that menu entirely: every run begins at the same pace, and the three bot chasers get gradually faster the longer you survive. There is nothing to configure — hit Play and the difficulty finds you on its own schedule.

The ramp, stage by stage

What changes as your run goes on

  1. 01 · 0–20 seconds

    Warm-up

Chasers move at their base speed. This is the easiest the game will ever be — use it to learn the arena layout, the obstacle positions, and where the boost pads sit.

  2. 02 · 20–90 seconds

    Picking up speed

Bot speed increases in small steps every 20 seconds. Nothing changes about the rules — the chase just gets tighter, and your margin for a wrong turn shrinks.

  3. 03 · 90+ seconds

    Overdrive

Chasers approach their speed cap. Surviving here is mostly about positioning before It gets close, since there is less room to out-turn a chaser once they are already on you.

  4. 04 · No ceiling

    Endless

There is no win screen and no final level — the run simply continues, getting harder, until you are tagged and cannot tag back in time. Your best survival time and score are saved locally so you always have a number to beat.

Because the ramp is gradual and has no selectable starting point, your best score and longest survival time are the only real way to compare runs — including against your own past attempts. See the tips page for strategy that holds up at every stage of the chase.
